Work Orders
Requests for work orders can be made by calling the Municipal Building at 618-664-1644.
Work Orders are issued to City work crews when residents and business owners call to request services that would be considered non-emergency and fall into the category of general maintenance.
An example of such a request would be a burned out street light, sidewalk repair, or a pot hole that needs to be filled.
What should you expect after making a request?
- A work order is created to track your request and is then sent to the department responsible for completing the requested work.
- If possible, the staff will advise you immediately when to expect service. Often times, the department manager must determine when the work can be completed. If the request cannot be completed within three (3) business days, a City department manager should call to inform you of the expected completion date or provide additional information regarding the request.
- Sometimes work is done immediately, sometimes work is scheduled along with work already planned for a future date. Sometimes the request for service does not fall under the City’s responsibility. In all cases, the City strives to get a response back within a three business-day turn-around time.
