City of Greenville will Host City Wide Yard Sales
The Greenville City-Wide Yard Sale will be held Friday, September 27 and Saturday, September 28 and is open to all city residents.
City of Greenville staff is coordinating the event and will provide maps showing the location, hours, and some of the items available at participating residences. There is no cost to participate or to be included on the map.
Registration forms can be picked up at the city of Greenville Municipal Building or the Greenville Public Library. A downloadable form can also be downloaded from the City’s website HERE. Forms must be returned to the Municipal Building by 8 am on Wednesday, September 25 to be included on the map. A digital form can be found HERE.
The maps will be available beginning Thursday, September 26 at the city of Greenville Municipal Building or the Greenville Police Department located at 404 S. Third Street.
Participants are reminded that yard sale signs should only be posted on private property with the owner’s consent and that it is illegal to post signs on city utility poles, street sign poles, or signal light poles.

Electronics Recycling Day September 21
In an effort to provide City of Greenville residents with a secure data and destruction drop-off location for electronics disposal, the City will be coordinating an electronics recycling day. Residents may bring their electronics to the public works facility located at 1307 S. Fourth Street on Saturday, September 21 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
- Items that can be recycled include: A/C adapters, analyzers/test equipment; audio/visual equipment; calculators; cameras; cell phones; computers/laptops; computer components; copy machines; CRTmachines; ink/toner; keyboards; LED/LCD monitors; LED/LCD televisions; main frames; medical devices; mice; printers/fax machines; security equipment; servers/server cabinets; stereo equipment; telephones; televisions; UPS/batter backups; wires/cables/cords; and much, much more...
- Unacceptable items include: CDs; VHS tapes; cassette tapes; batteries; paint; oil and other petroleum products; light bulbs (unless already part of the electronic device such as projectors);plastic not from electronics; chemicals not related to electronic equipment; refrigerators; air conditioning units; aluminum cans; tin cans; miscellaneous trash; glass bottles; wood products(unless already a part of the electronic device such as a television); Loose cardboard; bare tubes from monitors or televisions (tubes must be a part of the complete television or monitor unit).All electronics will be disposed of in a very secure and environmentally responsible manner after the items are de-manufactured and sorted. All hard drives are sent through a physical data destruction process to ensure data security. This year, there will not be an additional charge for televisions and monitors that are not flat screen, LED or LCD.
Residents should enter the gate at the public works facility and proceed to the secure drop-off site. City employees will be at the drop-off site to assist in the collection of electronic items.
