Governor Bond Lake Sewer Inspections

The City of Greenville is committed to providing quality water to the community and to protecting the raw water supply known as Governor Bond Lake. 

Effective March 13, 2007 the City council approved Ordinance #2736 requiring an annual private sewage inspection of all private sewage systems within 1,000 feet of the shoreline of Governor Bond Lake.

Any private sewage disposal system shall be maintained in working order. The City of Greenville shall require that the owner of record of a private sewage disposal system initiate and keep in force an agreement for inspection and maintenance of the private sewage disposal system in accordance with city code, and that the owner take action to repair, replace, modify, or maintain a private sewage disposal system to insure its proper operation.  (See City Code 95.19)
