Battle of the Bulbs

The City of Greenville invites residents to show off their holiday spirit in the inaugural Battle of the Bulbs residential Christmas lights competition, beginning November 29, 2025.

Participants will compete in three categories: Best Holiday Spirit, Most Creative, and People’s Choice. A panel of local community leaders will determine the winners, who will be announced during the City Council meeting on December 9, 2025.

• 105 Honey Locust Lane
• 1503 Killarney Drive
• 314 E. South
• 423 E. Winter

 

The People’s Choice Award will be decided through a Facebook competition, allowing the public to vote for their favorite display. Photos of all participating homes will be featured on the City of Greenville Facebook page.

 All participating homes will have their displays lit and visible from dusk until at least 9 p.m. each night through December 26.

To make it easy for residents and visitors to enjoy the festive displays, the City will provide both printed maps and a digital map of participating homes.

Prizes include:

● A yard sign recognizing each winning home in its category

● Recognition by Mayor George Barber during the December City Council meeting

● A $250 cash prize for each category winner
