Press Release - Greenville Receives OSLAD Grant

City of Greenville today announced that it has been selected to receive a $600,000 Open Space Land Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) grant from the State of Illinois. This grant will allow the City of Greenville to complete the second phase of the Plaza on Second project.

New Water Treatment Facility

The City of Greenville is making a major leap forward in public infrastructure with the construction of a new, state-of-the-art water treatment facility. This significant upgrade is designed to enhance water quality, increase processing capacity, and meet the future needs of the growing Greenville community.
The new water treatment plant will have the capacity to process 3.456 million gallons of water per day, ensuring a safe and reliable water supply for residents and businesses alike. The facility incorporates modern engineering and environmental standards.
The plant will continue to source raw water from the 770-acre Governor Bond Lake and will utilize an advanced eight-step purification process to deliver high-quality drinking water to the Greenville area.
“This project reflects Greenville’s long-term commitment to public health, infrastructure sustainability, and responsible stewardship of our natural resources,” said city officials. “We are excited to bring this much-needed upgrade to the residents and businesses who rely on a safe, dependable water supply every day.”
