Sewer Backup Coverage Program

A sewer backup can create a stressful and emotional situation for a homeowner or renter. When a sewer backup occurs, the municipality generally does not pay for damages caused by sewer backups unless the backup was caused by a direct act or negligence by the City. The City of Greenville strongly recommends that homeowners and renters obtain a sewer backup endorsement on their insurance coverage.
