Higher Education
The four-year Christian liberal arts school, Greenville College, is located in Greenville. About 1,000 students live on campus, and another 200 non-traditional students attend classes as well.
Those seeking a two-year associate's degree can attend Kaskaskia College in Centralia, Illinois, about 25 miles from Greenville. Kaskaskia College has an enrollment of about 5,000. Kaskaskia College also offers a variety of courses at the Greenville Center.
Greenville Public Schools
The City of Greenville is the home of the Bond County Community Unit 2 School District, which has education centers in Greenville and the surrounding towns of Pocahontas and Sorento. In Greenville itself are the Greenville Elementary School (grades K-5), the Greenville Junior High School (grades 6-8), and Greenville High School (grades 9-12). Approximately 609 students attend Greenville Elementary School, and the student-to-teacher ratio is 15 to 1. About 312 students go to Greenville Junior High School, and the student-to-teacher ratio there is 14 to 1. Approximately 525 students attend Greenville High School, and the student-to-teacher ratio is 12.5 to 1.
